One of America's finest singer-songwriters, Lucinda Williams' substantial talents transcends the genres she's so at ease, from folk to blues and country-rock. This latest US tour marks the artist’s eleventh studio album, 'Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone' (2014). The album is her first ever double studio album and is jam-packed with her own original material, with only two tracks including other songwriters. This includes her poet father on the opening track 'Compassion' - a song which is based upon his poem of the same name.
A Southern girl born and bred, Lucinda Williams started playing the guitar when she was just a child and released her first studio album in her early twenties. Her country upbringing and artistic family life helped infuse her songwriting with an emotional rawness that have become a signature of her music, and earned her several industry awards including a Grammy in 1993 for 'Passionate Kisses' as Best Country Song.
